Services
Welty Home offers many services to keep residents engaged and happy. All services are included in the monthly fee except as noted:
Nursing
Nurses are on duty and available to residents 24 hours a day to administer medications and provide other health-related services.
Physical, speech and occupational therapy
Licensed therapists in the building are available to help support or restore residents’ independence and make it easier for them to complete daily living tasks. Physical therapy can also reduce pain, improve strength and balance and help residents maintain a better quality of life. (Physician’s referral is required; co-pays will be charged per insurance coverage.)
Personal Care
Our personal care assistants are available around the clock to assist with bathing, dressing, and other resident needs.
Housekeeping
Rooms are cleaned weekly. Fresh towels are provided as requested and bed linens are changed during the weekly cleaning. We provide sheets but residents may also choose to bring their own.
Laundry
Welty Home washes residents’ laundry on a weekly basis; each floor has a designated laundry day. Residents may also choose to have family members take care of their laundry.
Transportation
We’re pleased to drive residents to medical appointments in a comfortable, handicap-accessible van. If there is space in the van, family members are welcome to ride with residents to their appointments.
Personal Spending Account
Residents and families may wish to establish personal spending accounts to cover beauty shop appointments, personal shopping service or just to have spending money available without having to make a special trip to the bank. Good Shepherd Nursing Home handles the accounting, but cash on hand is available to residents from the Welty Home office.
Personal Shopping
A personal shopper is available weekly to purchase personal items that residents may not be able to get for themselves. A personal spending account is required to use this service.
Beauty & Barber Shop
Our in-house beauty & barber shop is open Monday through Friday. Residents can make appointments for haircuts, hair styling, perms and other services. There is an additional cost for beauty shop services.
Social Services
Social services are available on an as-needed basis from a licensed social worker.

The Welty Home offers numerous activities to engage our residents’ imagination and spirit. These include exercise, reading and group discussion, music, games, crafts, manicures, baking, Bible study and movies.
